About me

I'm an award-winning multimedia journalist based in Phoenix, Arizona, with a passion for telling stories about the environment, immigration, and social justice.

In addition to storytelling, I have worked in international development, refugee aid, community arts engagement, and outdoor education. I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (The Gambia and Eswatini), a certified Wilderness First Responder, and a backpacking instructor with NOLS.

I hold a master's degree in Mass Communications from Arizona State University's Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and a Graduate Certificate in Documentary Filmmaking from George Washington University. I am also a Wilderness First Responder and a certified FAA drone pilot.

I am currently reporting at The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com as an Environmental Reporting Fellow.
